Professional Experience
Northway Group of Pharmacies | 2025-present
Northway Pharmacy Group is a Manitoba-based network of community pharmacies dedicated to delivering accessible, patient-centred care across a wide range of urban and rural settings. The organization is known for its strong operational foundation, collaborative team environment, and commitment to high-quality service within the healthcare system.
I recently joined Northway as part of a new chapter in my professional journey. This transition offers an opportunity to broaden my perspective within the community pharmacy landscape, learn from new mentors, and continue growing as a healthcare leader. I’m excited to contribute to an organization that values both excellence in practice and a supportive, team-based culture.
SpiritRx Services (formerly Grand Medicine Health Services) | 2018–2025
SpiritRx Services is an independent pharmacy owned by the 7 Tribal Councils of Manitoba. The organization provides pharmacy and medical supply services to rural and remote communities across Manitoba, Nunavut, and Northwestern Ontario, embracing a care-over-commerce philosophy that prioritizes patient needs and sustainable solutions.
At SpiritRx, I’ve taken on leadership and clinical roles to support patient care and operational excellence. As Manager of Professional Practice, I oversee a team of pharmacists and technicians, focusing on professional development, workflow improvements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
As a Clinical Check Pharmacist, I ensure the accuracy and clinical appropriateness of medications for blister-packing and support patients in underserved communities. I collaborate with healthcare professionals to address unique care needs, including opioid-agonist therapy in remote regions.
In my role as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Coordinator, I lead the implementation of patient safety initiatives, monitor medication incidents for trends, and develop strategies to enhance safety and reduce errors.
National Laboratory for HIV Immunology – Proteomics Group | 2013–2015
As an Undergraduate Research Student, I contributed to proteomic research by developing methods to optimize trypsin digestion and quantify drug content using a MALDI platform. My work included analyzing clinical mucosal and tissue samples to advance understanding in HIV immunology. This experience strengthened my analytical skills and provided a strong foundation in research methodologies and laboratory practices.
Leadership Experience
Pharmacists Manitoba | 2022–Present
Since joining the board of Pharmacists Manitoba in 2022, I have provided strategic leadership to advance the organization’s mission and vision. As Vice President, I work closely with the President and board members to drive advocacy initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes and support the pharmacy profession in Manitoba. My contributions include overseeing advocacy campaigns, engaging with interest-holders, and ensuring effective governance practices. Previously, as Secretary and Chair of the Good Governance Committee, I developed key resources, such as a Robert’s Rules Guide and a CEO performance evaluation framework, to strengthen organizational operations.
Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) | 2024–Present
As a Board Director for CPhA, I collaborate with national leaders to advocate for pharmacists and influence healthcare policy on a broader scale. I serve on the Advocacy and Human Resources & Compensation Committees, contributing to initiatives that advance the pharmacy profession and improve healthcare delivery across Canada.
Canadian Association of Pharmacy Students and Interns (CAPSI) | 2015–2018
During my time with CAPSI, I held multiple leadership roles, including Vice-President, Communications, and Manitoba Representative. I led national communication efforts, strengthened partnerships, and supported membership engagement through educational initiatives and events. My work included coordinating advocacy campaigns, organizing symposiums, and planning large-scale events like Pharmacist Awareness Month and Professional Development Week, fostering a strong community among pharmacy students and professionals across Canada.
